TITLE:Grapevine germplasm resources and utilization
ABSTRACT:
Grapevine is one of the most widely planted and economically valuable fruit in the world. There are more than 10,000 recorded grapevine cultivars, but most of them are sensitive to biotic or abiotic stresses, resulting in the heavy use of fungicides and fertilizers, which not only affects the quality of grapes, but also harms the environment. Breeding new cultivars with high quality and resistance is the key to solve this problem. There are three major origin centers of grapevine, and many wild resources in China and North America are resistant to biotic or abiotic stresses. Understanding resource classification and resource characteristics is very important for the mining of resistant germplasm and the accurate breeding of resistant new cultivar with quality and resistance.
